New Development: Ghana star Christian Atsu not located in any hospital yet
Agent of Bernard Mensah, Murat who is based in Turkey says Ghana international Christian Atsu Twasam is yet to be located in any hospital.
Early report broke out that, the former Newcastle United and Chelsea FC winger has been found and alive after getting trapped in rubble following earthquake in Turkey.
According to information, Atsu who plays for Turkish top-flight club Hatayspor was on 9th floor of the 7.7 magnitude building which collapsed on Monday morning. There is still no news on whether Hatayspor Sporting director Taner Savut has been found and pulled out of the rubble.
Murat speaking to Peace FM in Accra disclosed that he and his team have given Atsu’s details to medical facilities and they will keep on searching for him but at the moment, nothing of him is concrete.
“We heard the club’s explanation about Christian Atsu vice president told all media and world media that he was rescued and is at hospital. But in the evening time he gave one more explanation that he didn’t see his eyes he just heard it so there is no confirmation something like this,”
“So after that his Ghanaian agent also Nana me is all in contact we start to research hospitals everywhere we still couldn’t take any information so we are still waiting. We hope he is at a hospital or something like this but there is no confirmation so we need to follow official things I want to say it is not clear yet. The vice president said he heard he is at hospital he didn’t see it so he can’t give 100 percent confirmation about it,”
“And you know I am in Turkey and he is our friend I check all hospitals I gave his name, passport ID everything but there is still no news about him we are pushing to get correct news but now the situation is not clear so we need to follow official things actually. Not confirmed or denied it is unclear it is bad but this is the situation now,”
“His personal agent is in London now always in contact we are sharing all the information with each other but we still don’t have confirmation for now we are just pushing for him. He (personal agent) is in talks with UK consulate also if it happens they already know and informed,”
“Its continuing (rescue efforts) the city and neighbouring cities it will continue maybe more than one week 10 days they need to reach him urgent but if he is in the hospital we need to learn I am also trying to go to the city to check with my team you know flights are not easy now I am waiting flight to go there directly also to check everything with my teams,”
