Nathan Opoku is eager to learn - OH Leuven coach Marc Brys
OH Leuven coach Marc Brys has praised the attitude of youngster, Nathan Opoku saying he is willing and eager to learn.
Opoku was signed by Premier League side, Leicester City in January and was loaned out to the Belgian side for the rest of season.
Opoku has already established himself in the first team at Leuven and scored his first professional goal – as well as assisting in another and being named man of the match – in a 4-1 victory over Mechelen this past weekend.
“Opoku is a young, talented attacker who showed great things in America and now wants to do the same in Europe,” Brys said.
“He is eager and eager to learn and has a good passing game and shot,” he added.
The 21-year-old first having attracted admiring glances during his time at Lindsey Wilson College. He netted 19 goals in 19 matches there, which prompted Syracuse University to make their move for the talented attacker.
Opoku picked up where he left off upon his arrival at Syracuse, displaying both talent in front of goal and creativity with 11 goals and eight assists in 25 matches last season.
He played a key role in helping Syracuse win the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Soccer Championship for the first time at the end of 2022, with the youngster scoring in the final.
Opoku has represented Ghana at youth level.
