King Faisal advanced into the last four of the MTN FA Cup with 3-1 on penalties win over Aduana Stars after a 2-2 stalemate at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

Explosive start for the travellers who nearly grabbed the lead on the 6th minute but Alex Boakye’s effort was saved by Abdul Jabal Adams, Adu Dwomoh’s clears a possible rebound.

Quick response from the host as Baba Yahaya took on two defenders and sent a strong hit from outside but went wide for a restart.
 
Subsequently, Godfred Asiamah proved his capabilities with two sumptuous efforts with the last one dealt with beautifully by Joseph Aidoo.
 
Both teams with a dangerous goal attempts on each other as both Baba Yahaya and Emmanuel Gyamfi had their efforts parried away respectively by the two goalies.
 
Aduana Stars finally snatched the lead in the dying embers of the first half through Stephen Anokye Badu.
 
In the second half, the homesters returned on a good note, Godfred Asiamah’s blistering run tormented the opposition backline who had no option than to foul him in the box for a penalty. 
 
Abdul Latif elected himself for the kick and converted nicely to get King Faisal back on level terms.
 
On the 76th minute, the ‘Ogya’ lads relaxed, patched up all cracks to press high upfield which eventually got them a goal through Frank Owusu who scored with a superb goal to restore their lead. 
 
Just two minutes after, the Green and Whites responded quickly with a goal from Benjamin Bature to get back into it once again. It ended 2-2 after full time and the game head into extra time.
 
There was no goal produced in the additional fifteen minutes and the game was stretched to penalty shootouts of which King Faisal won 3-1 to reach the semi final.
