MATCH REPORT: Karela United shock league leaders Aduana Stars FC

A second half strike from Evans Adomako Wiredu ended Karela United seven-game winless run in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.

Karela United managed to record a 1-0 home win over league leaders Aduana Stars in their Ghana Premier League match-week 13 clash at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Aiyinase.
 
Aduana Stars commenced the fixture on a good note but they were wasteful upfront after squandering the numerous chances created in the first thirty minutes of the game.
 
The first department failed to produce any goal despite the impressive performance of Coach Paa Kwesi Fabian’s side.
 
In the second half, Karela United warmed themselves into the game to stage an intense pressure on the back line but none of their efforts before the hour-mark earned them the opener.
 
On-loan Asante Kotoko striker Evans Adomako Wiredu popped up on the 78th minute with a cool finish for Karela United which eventually became the match-winner for the hosts to end Aduana Stars’ four-game unbeaten streak.
 
Aduana Stars remains on top of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League table with 24 points despite the defeat to Karela United while the Aiyinase based club lies among the bottom-three teams.
