MATCH REPORT: Karela United pip Nsoatreman FC to stay alive on league table
Karela United returned to winning ways with a slim home victory over Nsoatreman FC in the Ghana Premier League match-week 21 fixture on Sunday afternoon.
A first half strike from Abdul Rahman Yahaya was enough to secure Karela United a 1-0 win over Nsoatreman FC at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Aiyinase.
The ‘Pride and Passion’ lads displayed a five-star performance to record an important win over the Premier League newbies to move out of the relegation zone after a three-game winless run.
Nsoatreman FC’s winless streak at away games continued after losing to the relegation threatened club on today’s fixture.
Abdul Rahman Yahaya registered his name on the score sheet for the homesters with a fine strike on the stroke of halftime and eventually became the only goal to be produced in the game.
In the second half, Nsoatreman FC unleashed an intense pressure on the home side with the hopes of getting the leveller but their efforts proved futile.
Karela United came close to double their lead through Evans Adomako but his strike was calmly cleared on the line by Emmanuel Kotei on the 63rd minute of the game.
Nsoatreman FC dealt with the late pressure mounted by the upfront of the host as the game ended in a 1-0 for Karela United.
Following the result, Karela United have moved to 14th position on the league log with 26 points while Nsoatreman FC occupies 10th position with 27 points after twenty-one games.
