MATCH REPORT: Karela United fall down flat in Accra

Accra Lions wasted no time in getting the game to visitors Karela United FC at the Accra Sports stadium in match day 2 of the 2022/23 BetPawa Premier League.

The Capital based outfit beat Aiyinase based outfit Karela United to pick their first victory of the new season after losing 1-0 to debutants kotoku Royals in the league opener. Accra Lions started their home dominance with first win after hammering Karela United FC 2-1 on Saturday.

Two first half goals unsettled the visitors who failed to react, and getting their ship sink.

Samuel Gyimah scored in the 24th minute to usher Accra Lions to what could be their best performance after two games. The pressure on Karela United FC got intensed seeing the visitors conceded three minutes later.

Daniel Kwame Awuni registered the second to deepen the woes of the Aiyinase lads. Nothing much could be offered as they went into the break thrilling 2-0 down.

Karela United FC came back stronger after recess to pull one back on the hour mark.

Enock Agblenyo’s intelligent goal was not enough to steal a point away in their match day two clash.
