MATCH REPORT: Hafiz Konkoni strike twice yet Bechem United thrashed in Tamale

Premier League debutants, Tamale City rallied from behind to Bechem United FC 3-2 on Saturday in their Premier league clash.

Bechem United FC travelled to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium and nearly run away with a win but fell off in the second half after the host staged a sensational comeback. Mohammed Yahaya led Tamale City to pick that necessary victory to boast their chances of escaping relegation.

The Hunters first strike in their away game with kingpin, Wontah Hafiz Konkoni in the 13th minute to unsettle them infront of their fans. 6 minutes later the former Bolga All Stars marksman doubled his side lead, surprisedly.

Coach Kassim Mingle despite, leading 2-0 before break with his side could not map a defensive strategy to hold the homers from scoring a consolation nor equalizer. 8 minutes from recess, Tamale City pulled one back through Mohammed Yahaya before Collins Boateng drew parity in the 65th minute from the spot.

With 7 minutes to full time, Godfred Abban scored the winner for Tamale City who cruise to a 3-2 victory on Saturday afternoon at home.

The win means alot to Tamale City, who are bent on retaining their Premiership ticket. However, they are within the drop zone and will need consistent performance to be lifted up.

With their win, they sit 13th position with 32 points.

Bechem United FC despite defeat, are still second on the log with 41 points, just 6 points adrift league leaders Aduana Stars FC.
