MATCH REPORT: FC Samartex devour Accra Lions in Nsenkyire Sports Arena
Yussif Seidu's late header seals victory for Samartex against Accra Lions at Samreboi
Accra Lions FC could not stand it in Samerboi at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday afternoon when they travelled to play FC Samartex 1996 in week 26 of the 2022 BetPawa Premier League fixture.
The visitors, suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Premier League debutants, thanks to Yussif Seidu’s late header.
Coach Annor Walker’s side, were held so tight to a first half goalless draw but managed to untie the rope after recess in the must win game. Accra Lions who have not won a game in their last four matches, though frustrated the host but not till end as a late header changed the script.
Dauda Yussif Seidu’s last-minute winner was enough to hand a 1-0 victory to Samartex.
Accra Lions felt disappointed after all their efforts to pick atleast a point could not be achieved. The defeat extends their winless run to five matches.
FC Samartex with the narrow win, maintained their status on the standings thus 9th with 36 points while the visitors held on to their 7th position with 39 points.
Samartex 1996 will travel to Dawu to play against Dreams FC as guests at the Theater of Dreams on Friday, April 21, in match week 27 of the ongoing league campaign.
Meanwhile, Accra Lions will host Medeama SC at the Accra Sports Stadium on the same day.
