Majeed Ashimeru star in Anderlecht draw with Club Brugge

The Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru was a delight to watch in Anderlecht draw game against Club Brugge on Sunday.

Anderlecht held Club Brugge to a 1-1 draw after full time, having Majeed Ashimeru face compatriot Dennis Odoi at the Jan Breydel Stadion

The former WAFA Star, though could not enjoy full proceedings of the encounter but offered close to Man-Of-The-Match performance after completing 44 out of 52 passes.

Majeed Ashimeru was substituted in the 89th minute having inspired his side to a draw by boxing the midfield.

He made two final third pass and created one chance for his side. Defensively, Ashimeru won all of his tackles (2) and 5 out of 6 ground duels.

Club Brugge took the lead through Casper Nielsen in the 68th minute but had it cancelled 11 minutes later, with Anderlecht benefitting from an own goal after Brendon Mechele scored in his net.

The draw leaves Anderlecht 11th placed with 24 points whiles Club Brugge sit 4th position with 35 points after 20 league matches.

Meanwhile, Ghana international Majeed Ashimeru has been a massive source of box-to-box midfielder for Anderlecht in the ongoing campaign, making 13 appearances and scoring two goals.

In a related story, yet to play for Ghana forward Francis Amuzu played the full throttle for Anderlecht.

Defender Denis Odoi started for Club Brugge and enjoyed the full duration of the game.

However, Odoi’s teammate Kamal Sowah was an 81st minute substitute.
