Kurt Okraku won’t go unopposed- New Edubiase capo Salam Yakubu
President of Ghana’s National Division One League club New Edubiase United FC, Abdul Salam Yakubu has confidently declared that current president of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku will not go unopposed in the upcoming election.
It’s expected that, the GFA holds election for the presidential seat in October 2023.
Tension has already erupted ahead of the yet to be confirmed election. However, some club administrators have tipped Kurt Okraku to retain the seat by going unopposed.
Abdul Salam Yakubu who is among the few outspoken Football administrators in the West African Country, says there are several candidates ready to contest for the seat when nominations are opened.
According to Salam, Kurt has created alot of enemies for himself and people are ready to come in for the position.
“There are a lot of people ready to contest Kurt Okraku. Should the GFA open nomination today, many people will send in their nomination forms to contest the GFA President and Executive Council,” he told Onua FM.
Okraku was elected in 2019 and will see his first term end in October but poised to seek re-election with the date for Congress and election yet to be announced.
