Kudus Mohammed scores in Ajax win over Excelsior

Ghana international continues brilliant form for Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Mohammed Kudus scored in Ajax, 4-1 win over Excelsior on Sunday. He netted the giant’s 3rd goal after commanding a starting berth to sideline Excelsior.

Ajax, after going 7 games without a win came good for the first time since the departure of Alfred Schreuder. They opened the scoring in the 15th minute through a penalty converted by Dusan Tadic.

Redouan El Yaakoubi drew Excelsior levelled with a good striker on the 36th minute.

In the 45th minute, Ajax regained the lead through Davy Klaassen.

Mohammed Kudus extended the lead in the 61st minute. The best Ghanaian player at the recently held SWAG awards struck a perfect shot from the edge of the box to make it 3-1.

Ajax rounded the game off through Devyne Rensch in the 83rd minute, 4-1.

The win, which takes Ajax into 4th place with 37 points, is their first win in 7 league games. The Dutch league holders had drawn their last 6 league games.

Kudus, goal is his 7th league goal of the season and his 12th goal in all competitions.
