JUST IN: Joseph Amoako cleared off rape charge
Ghanaian winger Joseph Amoako, was reportedly sentenced to prison for rape on the early hours of Thursday, March 9, 2023.
According to source, the Asante Kotoko SC loanee was sentenced to prison on an account of rape with a two year jail term but agent have confirmed he’s free now because court found case to be false.
Upon appeal, court has discharged Amoako from all charges.
Background
In October, it was revealed that the player in Allsvenskan Helsingborgs IF was suspected of rape and his club Allsvenskan chose to suspend the player.
On November 7, the player was requested to be detained, on probable grounds suspected of rape, and has been in custody until the trial.
Derrick D Thompson told Ghanasoccernet that; “They just released him yesterday from the prison after the appeal was made”
“The case was fake, the girl was lying. Upon appeal, Amoako has been released. It was all a fake story from the girl so he is now a free man”
