The 26-year-old Goalkeeper has sustained yet another injury during training with his national teammates in Kumasi.

Wollacott, an English-born Ghanaian joined Black Stars camp for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola on Monday but has picked up an injury during training at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The goalpost toppled over the glovesman who was enjoying his first training session after arriving in Kumasi on Tuesday afternoon.

He could not continue training after the incident as he got the medical team to check up on him but reliable report coming from the Black Stars camp is very unfortunate. Jojo limped off and will not be fit for the first leg encounter scheduled for Thursday but will have a scan as to whether he will be fit for the reverse fixture.

The shot-stopper recently recovered from a finger injury which ruled him out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The four-time African champions will play Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, March 23 before reverse fixture on March 27, 2023.

Ghana are joint top of the Group E table with 4 points from two games following a 3-0 win over Madagascar and a 1-1 draw with Central African Republic in June last year
