Ex-Asante Kotoko midfield maestro, Jordan Opoku believe current kotoko players will achieve nothing should they continue to rely on coaches tactical instructions.

According to him, their coaches will have the capacity to do their work as technical men but will take the individual brilliance and intelligence to keep the team rising and winning laurels.

His assertion comes at the back of Asante Kotoko SC elimination from the 2023 MTN FA Cup at the hands of Aduana Stars FC.

The Reds suffered a 1-0 defeat in Dormaa on Sunday in the round of 16 fixture and now bows out of the competition.

The side being led by Burkinabe trainer Seydou Zerbo, sit 3rd on the top-flight with 28 points, 7 points behind leaders Aduana Stars FC.

“The players of Kotoko must show seriousness if they want to achieve anything at Kotoko and not necessarily wait for the coach’s instructions,” he told Akoma FM.

“Yes, the coach will do his work but the job lies with the players. If not, we will always continue to apportion blame on this and that. The current players at Kotoko do not want to learn, if you don’t do that, there’s no way the results will change.”
