“I’m grateful to be in this World Cup expedition with Ghana” – Tariq Lamptey
England-based defender Tariq Lamptey has disclosed that he feels blessed to play at the biggest stage of football after making his FIFA World Cup debut with Ghana.
The Right-back last Thursday climbed off the bench to feature in Ghana’s 3-2 defeat to Portugal in the ongoing FIFA World Cup Group H game. It was his first-ever appearance at the Mundial following nationality switch to play for Ghana.

“The results wasn’t what we wanted as a team, we wanted to get a win againstPortugal, we didn’t get that”
“But am proud to make my World Cup debut, grateful to have being the chance but would have love the team to get a win and it would have being fantastic, all around but looking forward to next game”
“I’m very blessed to be in this expedition, I like to work hard, pray to God, keeping my heads down and focus. It’s everyone’s dream to be at the big stage at the World Cup so, am grateful for that”
“There is more work to do, so this makes you more hungry and am ready to improve in the game and achieve more things like this”, the former Chelsea FC youngster Tariq Lamptey told GFA media.
