“I have taken a backseat” – Kwesi Nyantakyi finally responds to CAS decision on FIFA ban
Kwesi Nyantakyi has disclosed that “there is more to life than football” after taken the decision not to appeal on his ban from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The former Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi was banned from active football following the Ana’s exposé aired in 2017. In October 2018, fifa sanctioned him for breaking bribery and corruption rules.
The Court of Arbitration for Sports then slapped him with 15-year sanction. Responding to his ban, Nyantakyi said he won’t appeal on it because he has taken the decision to take a backseat.
According to Nyantakyi, the footage was doctored to falsely incriminate him.
“I have taken a backseat. I don’t know when am returning to football. I have not done anything about the 15 years ban,” he told King TV in an interview.
“Let’s put football behind. There is more to life than football. I am a lawyer. I didn’t learn football in school. It’s just a past-time. I have too many things doing at the moment.
“I put in a long of work for whatever that I do. I also have banking background and so everything is fine.
