I have support of Ghana Football Association to work, says Ghana coach Chris Hughton
The 64-year-old veteran Football coach, Chris Hughton who was appointed Ghana coach in March 2023, as Otto Addo’s replacement has confirmed that he has a very good relationship with the Ghana Football Association.
Chris Hughton previously was the technical advisor to Otto Addo during the 2022 FIFA World Cup held in Qatar.
He was offered the coaching role following the departure of Ghanaian tactician and former national team player Otto Addo. One and half year period was handed to him by the authorities.
Despite, reports that the Association often set coaches up to fail Chris says he has the support of the Association.
“My dealings with the Ghana Football Association have been good, very open and honest and they have assured me of the support,” the former Newcastle United FC and Tottenham Hotspur manager told SuperSport.
He also touched on his technical team, saying they’re good and makes work easy.
“I have a good backroom staff because if you have a good backroom staff, it makes your work far easier but you would need to have the right people around. People you value and you can trust and I believe that is what I have got,”
Chris is currently working with Masawudu Dramani and George Boateng as his two deputies.
Former Black Stars goalie Richard Kingson is acting as the goalkeeper’s trainer for the team.
