Hearts of Oak coach bemoan Karela United heavy defeat to bad day
“It’s a bad day but I take full responsibility” – David Ocloo on Hearts of Oak’s defeat to Karela United
Assistant coach of Accra Hearts of Oak SC, David Ocloo bemoaned his side’s heavy defeat to Karela United FC as bad day in office.
Hearts of Oak SC got thrilled by 3-0 away to Aiyinase-based club Karela United FC on Saturday after their former captain Fatawu Mohammed bag brace of assist and seeing Konadu Yiadom score an own goal.
The Rainbows found themselves 2-0 down inside the first 35 minutes, thanks to Emmanuel Boakye’s strike and Konadu Yiadom’s own goal for the La Biancas. Ocloo’s team tried in vain to find a way back into the game, only for Richard Berko to make the points safe for the hosts 2 minutes from time.
And Ocloo, whose side have picked just one point in their last four away games concedes it was a “bad day” for the club. He also admitted that they were poor defensively and offensively.
“It Is a bad day. I think we didn’t play badly but defensively we were poor today because if you give your opponent time and space he will punish you and that was what happened today. Offensively too the finishing was poor because we had a couple chances but unfortunately… its bad day at the office and I take full responsibility,” David Ocloo told StarTimes.
The defeat means Hearts remain fourth, four points adrift of leaders Aduana Stars, who face Real Tamale United this afternoon.
