The Continental Club Masters are six points off the top position of the ongoing 2022-23 BetPawa Premier League after losing to Real Tamale United FC away.

Hearts of Oak SC suffered a painful defeat from the hands of RTU on Sunday evening at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. Their former player who rose through their youth team, Auroras to the first team, Abdul Manaf Umar scored the only goal of the game against them.

His late gasp stunned the Phobians in their week 16 fixture, leaving them behind Aduana Stars FC, Bechem United FC, Bibiani GoldStars SC and Accra Lions FC yet, Serbian trainer Slavko Matic believe they’re not off winning the title.

According to Matic, it’s still possible to clinch the ultimate despite having an inconsistent season.

“When you don’t score three times, one against one with goalkeeper, second half from 2 meters. Then the opponents score from 20 meter. They punish you for your chances, what you didn’t score.”

“Of course[It’s not over yet]. A lot of games. About 18 games. We still have a chance. We must believe more. We must work harder.”

“The defeat is painful but we must continue. Tomorrow is another day. We need to prepare for the next match. This is football.”

It was Accra Hearts of Oak SC third defeat of the season.

Meanwhile, they will host Berekum Chelsea in the next round of matches.
