“Hearts of Oak and Kotoko do not have for running the club” – Ex-Ghana international Laryea Kingston
"Hearts of Oak and Kotoko do not have for running the club" - Ex-Ghana international Laryea Kingston
Former Hearts of Oak and Black Stars player, Laryea Kingston says, both Asante Kotoko SC and Hearts of Oak SC do not have plans and directions for running the teams to be successful.
He has attributed the current woes to lack of proper planning.
“Both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko should have a game plan for the future, there should be a plan for what they want to achieve in the next 4-5 years both in the league and on the continent”, he told Metro TV.
The aforementioned clubs have failed to inspire in the Africa Inter-club competitions for years now, with no power to reach the group stages. Recently, Hearts of Oak SC and Asante Kotoko SC were eliminated from the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup at the preliminary rounds.
“It’s all about planning but unfortunately I don’t think they have any such thing”.
“These teams should try and do the right things”
“They should also try to hire the right technical people and the right management who understands the game”
Hearts of Oak’s dream of winning the GPL trophy this season received a massive blow over the weekend as Medeama SC thumped them 5-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium to climb top of the league log.
The Phobians are currently 8th with 45 points on the table while their arch rival Kotoko occupies the 4th position 47 points.
