“Government is solidly behind you in everything you do” – Akufo-Addo affirms support to Atsu’s family

Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu who passed on weeks ago following the devastating earthquake in Turkey will be put to rest in the coming days at his hometown.

The family of the former FC Porto star, has confirmed March 04, 2023 for his one week observation with final funeral rite yet to be announced. However, President of the state H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo met the family of the former Ghana International on plans and preparation for his burial.

The meeting was held on Monday on the fourth floor of Flagstaff House, which saw the President assure the family of Atsu Twasam their massive support in giving the winger a befitting burial.

According to the President, the state will not hesitate in offering any support to the family before, during and after the funeral funeral rites.

“Whatever decision you take, whatever date you choose government will be behind you to ensure a befitting burial,” President Akufo-Addo said.

Meanwhile, Christian Atsu’s body is in the morgue since arriving in Ghana on February 19 from Turkey.
