Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey to miss AFCON doubleheader against Angola
Ghana international Tariq Lamptey suffered an injury over the weekend during Brighton and Hove Albion English Premier League game against WestHam Uinted.
Tariq Lamptey spent just 16 minutes on the field during Brighton game against WestHam Uinted. He appeared to have picked a knock and was taken off for Joel Veltman.
Brighton and Hove Albion defeated the Hammers 4-0 at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.
The extend of Tariq injury is not yet known but he is in race against a team to be fit for the first leg of the qualifiers on March 23.
Tariq Lamptey could miss Ghana’s doubleheader against Angola in the 2023 African Cup of Nations Qualifier, if he falls fitness test.
First leg scheduled for March 23, 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports before Ghana makes a journey four days later for the second leg in Luanda.
Tariq Lamptey switched nationality to play for Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
