Strasbourg center-back, Alexander Djiku has picked up an injury at national team camp after getting substituted with almost 20 minutes to full time of Ghana game against Angola.

On Thursday, March 23 2023, the Black Stars welcomed the Palancas Negras of Angola to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the first leg of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. The defender could not see full minutes as he was replaced by Celta Vigo’s defender Joseph Aidoo due to injury he sustained in the 70th minute.

Medical team of the Black Stars led by Dr. Pambo are yet to communicate the extend at which the player is hurt. However, he is likely to miss Ghana’s reverse fixture against Angola on March 27, 2023 says a member of the team.

The French based defender will be excused from the team for feature assessment.

Djiku started for Ghana at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium where he safeguarded the backline as Ghana picked a narrow 1-0 victory.
