GFA reportedly warn players to renew club contracts with clubs or axed from Black Galaxies

The Ghana Football Association have asked players who have earned call-up to the Black Galaxies to renew their contract with current clubs or get sacked from the national team.

According to reports making waves in the local media, authorities of the Association has made it clear to players whose contract is running out with their clubs to extend to avoid being axed from the squad.

In an attempt, to avoid player exodus and dismantle the team before their CHAN tournament next year in Algeria wants players whose contract is running out to renew.

Any player who sails a new deal outside Ghana loses the opportunity to play in the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Nations Championship in Algeria.

The Black Galaxies after failing to secure ticket for the CHAN since will 2014, qualified after beating Nigeria on penalties earlier this year and have been drawn in Group C

According to sports journalist Asante Forkuo, the players have being warned to renew contract or face exit.

“Renew your contract or be taken out of the Black Galaxies, GFA tells players Players whose contracts have expired or about to expire are been asked by GFA to renew or be booted out of the team Players who have the intention to travel abroad before CHAN will also face the axe”

One player, facing the aforementioned is Hearts of Oak’s Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.
