GFA faces backlash only because of the Black Stars- Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe
The Head of Public Relations and Strategy for the Ghana Football Association, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe has opined that the GFA is being criticized by the public because of the poor performances of the Black Stars.
He believes the FA is doing well across board but the reason for the backlash is because the biggest product of the Association; which is the Black Stars is not doing well.
The Black Stars are currently third in Group F of the AFCON qualifiers with just 2 points after four games and are on the verge of not qualifying.
Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe says though the Black Stars are not doing well, the other products of the FA are performing well.
“The performance of the Black Stars is the reason the public are criticizing the GFA. When the Black Stars were doing well, the Women’s Premier League was no where, the Women’s Premier League was not on TV. Our girls were not travelling. ” He said
“I understand the pain of Ghanaians. The GFA is doing a lot of good things but if the Black Stars don’t perform, the FA is being criticized.” He added.
Ghana will take on Angola on Friday, November 15, followed by a home game against Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, November 18, 2024.
