Frank Acheampong Joins Dalian Yingbo FC in Chinese Super League
Former Ghana international Frank Acheampong has secured a new chapter in his career after completing a move to Chinese Super League side Dalian Yingbo FC on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old winger arrives in Dalian following the expiration of his contract with Henan FC, ending a successful spell in which he established himself as one of the club’s standout attacking players. His decision to switch clubs comes after Henan failed in their attempts to extend his stay.
Acheampong heads into the new campaign off the back of an impressive 2025 season, where he registered 14 goals and added three assists, underlining his continued threat from wide areas. His speed, dribbling ability and sharp finishing made him a constant danger to opposing defences throughout the campaign.
Dalian Yingbo are understood to be targeting significant improvement in the upcoming season and see Acheampong as a key addition to their attacking unit. The former RSC Anderlecht forward is also expected to provide leadership and experience within the squad.
He also played a crucial role in Henan’s journey to the Chinese FA Cup final last season, although the club ultimately suffered a 3-0 defeat to Beijing Guoan in the showpiece match.
A runner-up with Ghana at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, Acheampong brings a wealth of international and club experience to his new team, with expectations high that he will be a major influence as Dalian push for success in the 2026 Chinese Super League campaign.
