Felix Afena-Gyan on target as Cremonese thrash Salsomaggiore in friendly

Ghanaian international Felix Afena-Gyan was on target in Cremonese emphatic victory over Slasomaggiore in a club friendly.

The forward who joined the newly promoted Italian Serie A side from giant’s AS Roma, is gradually putting in efforts to gather the pieces and bang in goals to inspire his team maintain their slot in the top-flight.

On Thursday, Afena-Gyan with a brilliant finish in the second half of their game against Slasomaggiore, propelled them to whitewash the lower-tier side 6-0 in their preparatory game ahead of the return of league.

Afena-Gyan who could not make Ghana’s squad for the World Cup, remained in Italy to continue training while the league was on break.

He was joined by his teammates this week for mid-season training.

Santiago Ascarcibar and Luka Lochoshvili two quick goals ensured Cremonese take a two goal lead before the 20th minute.

Nigerian duo Cyriel Dessers and Daniel Okereke added two more goals before half time.

After the break, Afena-Gyan extended the lead before Leonardo Sernicola completed the mauling.
