FC Samartex 1996 on Saturday recorded their biggest revenue since joining the Ghana Premier League. The Timber Giant’s gained promotion to the elite division after winning Division One League Zone Two slot last season.

Over the weekend, the club cash out a whooping Gh₵ 62,000 from their gate proceeds when they hosted Ghana Premier League reigning champions Asante Kotoko SC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena at Samerboi.

The match-week 22 fixture saw the host suffer a 2-1 defeat infront of the unrelenting supporters. Same scoreline they recorded in the first leg played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Asante Kotoko SC scored twice in the first half to unsettle Samartex who could only manage to reduce the deficit by one in the die embers of the game through Ebenezer Acquah.

Enock Morrison and Rocky Dwamena were the scorers for the Porcupine Warriors.

With the fans trooping to the Arena on Saturday, FC Samartex 1996 generated an amount of Gh₵ 62,000. An amount which by far, now their biggest gate proceeds in the country’s elite division.
