Black Stars winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has returned to Portugal after his country’s exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in the Asian state, Qatar.

The 19-year old who made his first World Cup appearance for Ghana, could not enjoy the tournament much following Ghana’s inability to progress from the group phase.

Fatawu’s Ghana was drawn in Group H along with Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay but failed to qualify despite amassing a win in their second game against South Korea and losing 2-0 to Uruguay in their last group game.

With the Black Stars saying bye to the global showpiece, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has returned to Portugal to join his teammates at Sporting CP for the rest of the remaining season.

The AFCON  U20 best player made his World Cup debut against Uruguay as a substitute.
