Fans Divided Over Shock Transfer Rumour Linking Hearts To Former Kotoko Star

Hearts have made an enquiry about bringing former Asante Kotoko star Christopher Nettey to the club, and fans all over social media aren’t sure how to feel.

Following the expiration of his contract with the Porcupine Warriors, the enigmatic Nettey and Kotoko mutually resolved to part ways, and the Phobians are the latest side to emerge as a potential suitor for the 24-year-old, who has expressed a desire to play for his boyhood club.

As a free agent, the fee involved would likely allow the deal to go through with minimal pressure or expectation, but some are still far from convinced by the right-back’s pedigree or work ethic.

Some, however, argue that the former Kotoko player would serve as a much-needed replacement for outgoing Fatawu Mohammed-the lack of which could cost them in the remainder of the season.

Here’s what fans had to say.

“You are always welcome to Phobia family
Once a Phobian always a Phobian ”- Kwame Owusu

” Hahahahaha small boy benched him at Kotoko and u want to bring him to Hearts? Why are we not learning like that ? Ernest Sowah and co are still fresh in our minds oooo, yoooo.”- Tijani Alwakra

“For once Hearts of Oak management should be serious there are better right back players in Ghana they should look elsewhere, this guy is not coming with anything special, aah Hearts paaa di3 hmmm.” Francis Wassah

“So are you people saying there is no better right back in the country apart from this guy? You have Inkoom, so you can get one lower divisions player as a backup.” Lawrence Agbede

“To where for what have you people listen to the interview he once said kotoko is the biggest cup in Ghana if he lives kotoko any cup is unless to him and u said what nonsense.” Nii Kwei Adjei

“If he would be useful to the team, we should go for him” James Mensah
