The German trained Ghanaian football coach, Michael Osei has been named assistant trainer of the Black Meteors ahead of 2023 U-23 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Osei, 51, is among few coaches in the Ghanaian top-flight doing wonderfully well since getting to mainstream coaching.

He’s currently the technical head of Premier League side Bibiani GoldStars SC. His appointment as deputy trainer doesn’t come in as a surprise looking at his performance with his club based in Bibiani.

The former New Edubiase United FC and Asante Kotoko SC gaffer will now assist one fantastic Ghanaian tactician Ibrahim Tanko at the U-23 team, as they hope to secure TotalEnergies U-23 Africa Cup of Nations slot for Ghana.

His work starts immediately having seen his boss announce 24-players to resume camping this week.

Ghana will either face Ethiopia or Algeria in the 3rd and last Round of qualifiers for the TotalEnergies U-23 Africa Cup of Nations depending on who wins.
