EXCLUSIVE: Coach Abdul Umar Rabi seals deal in Egypt after leaving Medeama SC

The 37-year old Ghanaian has left his role as Medeama SC head coach after a season and half with the club.

Though, he was a long standing member of the Ghana Premier League club playing the role as a scout but secured the head coach role last season following the sack of Ignatius Osei-Fosu after week 4. He managed to place Medeama SC second on the 2021-22 Ghana Premier league table behind champions Asante Kotoko SC.

Rabi was demoted to the role of assistant coach of Medeama SC, assisting David Duncan for the 2022-23 BetPawa Premier League, however, Duncan didn’t survive it as he was fired having played 6 matches.

On Wednesday, Abdul Umar Rabi also announced his resignation putting before the club his letter after a 1-1 draw to Real Tamale United in Tamale.

He left the side 7th on the log with 28 points after match week 19.

According to reliable source, Umar Rabi resigned to take a job in Egypt.

The Ghanaian Coach will join fast-growing academy club in Egypt, Right to Dream Academy.
