DONE DEAL: Hearts of Oak agrees deal with former Asante Kotoko SC coach as new manager
Ghanaian top-flight club, Hearts of Oak SC have advanced with talks to appoint Ghanaian trainer Prosper Nerteh Ogum as new manager.
Both parties have agreed contract terms with announcement of Prosper Nerteh Ogum imminent. Following the rift between Hearts of Oak fans and their Serbian trainer Slavko Matic, the club has resorted to show Matic the exit door for Ogum.
The Continental Club Masters in the course of 2022-23 Premier league contacted Nerteh Ogum to head their technical team but talks broke down, after the tactician refused to manage the team mid-season. However, meeting between two Hearts of Oak board members with the former WAFA gaffer has yielded positive result with deal agreed.
Nkrataasem.com can exclusively confirm, that his announcement will soon be made official by the Capital-based outfit.
Matic who replaced Samuel Boadu after five league matches have not being able to impress the fans with results having won 7, drawn three and lost four in 14 league matches.
On Friday, the supporters prevented Slavko Matic from performing his duties as Hearts of Oak SC despite having a big game with arch rivals Asante Kotoko SC which they eventually won 1-0 with assistant coach David Ocloo leading the team.
Matic in his last two games lost to Aduana Stars FC and Great Olympics FC an outcome that seems to have broken the camel’s back.
Prosper Nerteh Ogum managed to clinch the 2021-22 Ghana Premier league title for the Reds which was his first season after joining from WAFA.
He previously managed Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs.
