Accra Hearts of Oak shift their focus to knockout action on Wednesday when they welcome lower-division side True Life FC in the Round of 64 of the MTN FA Cup—a fixture head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani believes holds special meaning for the supporters.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Dramani stressed that the encounter provides an opportunity for fans to appreciate the direction of the club under its current leadership.

“For me, it gives our fans the chance to come up there and see what the board has done. Sometimes when I step into training, I feel like I am still in Europe,” he stated.

The Phobians last lifted the FA Cup in 2022, and with silverware high on their priority list this season, the coach reaffirmed his determination to return the club to the podium.
“We said we were ready to compete for every trophy at stake, so the FA Cup is just one of those trophies available for contest,” Dramani added.

He also revealed that his squad rotation in last week’s league match against Vision FC was part of a deliberate strategy to manage workload ahead of a demanding schedule.
“That is why we rested some players from our previous game. It is a week where we will play three games… Karela is just at the weekend, and we are travelling to my hometown (Tamale), so we need to reload players,” he explained.

Wednesday’s tie marks the third home ground Hearts will use this season, having already staged Ghana Premier League fixtures at both the Accra Sports Stadium and the University of Ghana Stadium.

With ambitions high and the road to potential silverware beginning now, Hearts of Oak enter the contest keen to avoid an upset and maintain momentum in their push for glory.
