Ghanaian defender, Caleb Amankwah has refused signing new contract with giant’s Accra Hearts of Oak SC despite weeks of talks. Both parties met several times on contract renewal but talks broke down after the club failed to meet his demand.

The center-back, has turned down the contract extension offer from the Continental Club Masters after having his demand pushed away. He demanded over 1 billion Ghana Cedis for two years extension.

Caleb joined Hearts of Oak SC in 2021 as a free agent, signing two-year contract after leaving two-time Ghana Premier League champions Aduana Stars FC.

He was an integral member of the Phobians team, that won the Ghana Premier League, two FA Cup titles, and the President’s Cup.

He has been outstanding throughout this season with three goals in 24 matches as a defender; notably against Stade Malian in the Confederations Cup and Asante Kotoko.

The former WAFA pillar will have his contract with Hearts of Oak SC run out in July, 2023.

With a club in Serbia, looking to capture him with an amount of $300,000, the Ghanaian is expected to leave Hearts of Oak SC at the end of 2022-23 league season.
