Ghanaian midfielder Daniel Afriyie Barnieh could be leaving Ghana Premier League giant’s Hearts of Oak SC in the coming weeks.

The Black Stars midfielder and his entourage have asked the Management of the Phobians to hold on with contract extension. Hearts of Oak SC have been looking forward to pin their kingpin down with new contract after appearing at the global showpiece.

But, the players representatives are not willing to accept contract renewal for their client.

Talks between both parties have been going on for a period now but has seen the player’s camp dragging their feet.

Barnieh who joined Hearts of Oak in 2019 from second-tier side Madina Republicans, was a member of the Black Stars team that made it to the 2022 FIFA World Cup but could not play a single minute as Ghana got exited from the group with three points.

He is one of the two locally-based players who earned a call-up to the Black Stars at the Mundial.

According to multiple reports, several European and Asian clubs are chasing for the signature of the former Ghana U-20 skipper.
