Daniel Afriyie Barnieh makes FC Zurich debut in defeat to Lugano

Ghana forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has finally made his debut for FC Zürich after joining on a long-term contract last month.

The 21-year-old featured in the Swiss Super League for FC Zürich on Saturday in their defeat to Lugano. Barnieh’s outfit succumbed to a 2-0 lost on the road.

He made a cameo appearance late in the game but could not help the side reduce their goal deficit, losing all points to Lugano .

The Black Stars forward will be hoping to secure more playing time as he keeps developing his craft.

Afriyie Barnieh joined the Swiss Super League giants for an undisclosed fee in the January transfer window from Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak SC.

He penned a three year deal that will keep him at the club until 2026.
