Current Hearts of Oak and Kotoko players are very lazy - Former Ghana defender Edward Agyemang reveals

Former Ghana defender Edward Agyemang Duah has labelled both Asante Kotoko SC and Hearts of Oak SC players lazy.

According to him, the attitude and performance of the current crop of players trading their mark for the two glorious Ghanaian clubs is the reason for their poor performance in the CAF Inter-Club competitions.

Both clubs in recent times, have failed to impress in Africa due to poor outings which seems to be a shock considering the caliber of teams that beat them. Teams such as Rail club de Kadiogo, Wydad Casablanca and Berkane are the clubs that design and humiliate these two Ghanaian clubs in the first round of qualification.

The giants have failed to make it to money zone in almost five seasons now.

Asante Kotoko is the last Ghanaian club to reach the money zone of the CAF Confederations Cup and that was in 2019.

Speaking in an interview with Winneba-based NycE FM, the former defender blamed the lacklustre performance of the teams on the presence of lazy players.

Duah, who was fortunate to play for both Asante Kotoko SC and Hearts of Oak SC made it point blank that that during his time, there was a lot of competition, players were committed, disciplined and united, and trained harder which yielded results unlike the current players.

“Truth be told, the players at the moment are lazy and that is why they are unable to perform in Africa,” he said.
