Skipper of the Ghana senior national men’s team, Andre Morgan Dede Ayew has been ruled off TotalEnergies 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers second leg game against Angola.

The 33-year-old has sustained an injury and therefore been left out of Ghana squad to travel to Luanda for the second fixture of the qualifiers. Andre could not even play a minute in the first leg encounter last Thursday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium when the Black Stars run away with a narrow win.

Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo climbed off the bench to score a late screamer to win the first tie of which Dede did not play a part due to injury.

Andre due to his fitness level, did not make the match day squad.

Ghana heads to Luanda with their captain and most capped Black Stars player with 113 games.

The four-time African champions will play Angola on March 27, 2023.
