Chris Hughton announce his first-ever Ghana squad for AFCON assignment

The 64-year old football coach, Chris Hughton has announced his squad for Ghana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers later this month.

Ghana will face Angola in a double-header encounter in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers asuch, a squad to resume camping has been unveiled. Chris invited 25-players for the assignment as they hope to secure qualification for next AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.

Sheriff Tiraspol star Patrick Kpozo, for the first time ever earned his maiden national team call-up.

Majeed Ashimeru has returned to the team after close to two years absent. Goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott also named in the squad for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola.

Majeed Ashimeru of Anderlecht and Joseph Painstil of Genk both included.

Ghana will host Angola in the first fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on March 23, 2023 before travelling to Luanda for the reverse fixture three days later at the Estadio 11 de Novem­bro 17H00.
