CAF CL: Zamalek President gift players, Coaches US$1.4m ahead of Flambeau clash
President of Zamalek, Mortada Ahmed Mohamed Mansour, has given the first team players cash of US$1 Million to be shared ahead of their CAF Champions League tie against Flambeau du Centre.
In addition, the President also gifted the technical team and administrators an amount of US$407,000.00 as motivation.
The five times CAF Champions League winners could not progress from the group stage of the competition for two consecutive seasons and are looking forward to redeeming their image this time.
The current Champions of the Egyptian Premier League will play as visitors to Flambeau du Centre of Burundi at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, Egypt.
The Cairo-based side has paid US$50,000 to Flambeau du Centre for accepting to play both legs of their CAF Champions League 2nd preliminary tie in Egypt.
Zamalek would have spent $203,468 if they were to travel to Tanzania for the 1st leg alone and over $300,000 for both legs.
Playing the two fixtures in Egypt will allow El Nady El Malaky to book a spot in the group stage of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League.
