CAF approves Baba Yara Sports Stadium for Angola game

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), have approved Kumasi Stadium popularly known as the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier game against Angola next month.

In March, the Black Stars of Ghana will face Angola in a double-header game in 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

Ghana will first host, Angola in Kumasi on March 21, 2023 before second leg game far away in Angola days later.

Ahead of the epic qualifier match, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has received morale bolster following the satisfaction by CAF after inspecting the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The authorities were satisfied with works at the venue though it needs few touches especially with the lighting system and dressing room.

The four-time African champions will be hoping to secure a double over Angola to boost their qualification having failed to impress in Cameroon AFCON and Qatar FIFA World Cup, finishing bottom of the groups.

Ghana has same points with Angola thus four (4) after two matches played in Group D.

Manager Chris Hughton now takes over the coaching role as new gaffer, following the exit of Otto Addo after the World Cup tournament.
