Burial Date for former Ghanaian player Christian Atsu officially announced

On Saturday, March 04, 2023 the one-week commemoration of Christian Atsu Twasam was held at the Adjiringanor astro turf in Accra.

The 31-year-old lost his life, as a result of earthquake in Turkey and Syria which got him trapped in a two storey building in a 7.7 magnitude of earthquake. After an enigmatic moment of football game for Hatayaspor where he scored the only goal of the game from benched was trapped close to 12-days, only to be confirmed dead on Saturday morning.

His death came in as a shock, especially the Ghanaian community and his former clubs.

On Saturday, the entire country mourned him and signed the book of condolence in his one week observation held.

At the one-week observation of the former Ghana international, Christian Atsu Twasam it was noted that a befitting burial for him will be in two weeks time.

March 17, 2023 has being confirmed for his burial which will happened at the state House/fortcourt of Parliament Osu.

Atsu with the Black Stars made 65 appearance and scored nine goals. He made three AFCON  tournament appearance for Ghana and won the 2015 AFCON best player in Equatorial Guinea and also picked the best goal of the tournament.

He had stints with FC Porto, AFC Bournemouth, Newcastle United, FC Everton, Malaga and Chelsea FC.
