National Women's Premier League clubs to be increased from 10 to 12

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), have proposed an increment in Women’s teams from 10 to 12 for the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, starting next season.

Reports earlier reached desk, revealed that no club within the Women’s top-flight will suffer relegation in the ongoing 2022-23 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League but reliable checks inside the Football Association says, it’s untrue. Emphatically, stating no such has been discussed at the Executive Council level.

However, the 12 club-league is in the pipe line but clubs will go to relegation.

In the Northern Zone, debutants Candy Soccer Academy sit bottom of the log with 11 points whiles one of the long-standing Women’s club in Ghana, Fabulous Ladies FC sit 9th with 13 points.

A position that could see them relegated if they fail to win their remaining two matches.

With the Southern Zone, Thunder Queens and Ridge City have drop to the Zone with 14 points and 3 points, respectively.
