Italian Serie A side Bologna have strengthened their youth setup with the capture of highly-rated Ghanaian midfielder Kwesi Sorotu Badori, securing his services for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

The 18-year-old joins the Rossoblù from Ghana Premier League outfit Berekum Chelsea, following two impressive campaigns that placed him firmly on the radar of several European clubs. The agreement also includes an option for Bologna to make the transfer permanent should the youngster meet expectations during his spell in Italy.

Bologna confirmed the move at the close of the winter transfer window on Monday, February 2, as part of a series of additions to their Primavera (Under-19) squad.

“With the winter transfer window for the 2025–2026 season now closed, Bologna FC 1909 has announced the following transfers involving its Youth Sector.
Incoming Transfers – Primavera (U-19 Team):
• Flavio Juncaj – NK Domžale
• Niccolò Mennini – FC Scandicci 1908
• Badori Kwesi Sorotu – Berekum Chelsea FC”

After finalising the paperwork, Badori returned briefly to Ghana to complete his work permit process and is expected back in Italy soon, eager to settle in and make an immediate impact.

The young midfielder has enjoyed a steady rise in domestic football, featuring in 14 league matches this season and finding the net twice—an improvement on his single goal from 29 appearances in the previous campaign. His energy, composure, and eye for goal have made him one of the most talked-about young prospects in the Ghanaian game.

Before sealing the move to Bologna, Badori had attracted interest from clubs in Switzerland and Denmark, including reported links to FC Basel. His switch to Italy now presents a major opportunity to continue his development within one of Europe’s competitive youth systems.
