Black Stars leaves Ghana for Angola for part 2 of 2023 AFCON qualifier game
The players and their technical team have left the shores of Ghana heading to Angola for the reverse fixture of the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The team departed around 3:30 PM at the Airforce airport hoping to accomplish double over Angola.
Ghana is looking forward to secure a record three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations qualification. It looks possible as they take off to Luanda having already secured top position of Group E with 7 points after beating Angola by a narrow 1-0 in the first leg that happened on Thursday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium whiles Angola are with four points.
Should the Black Stars pick a positive result in Luanda on Monday, qualification to 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast is cemented and the rest of matches will be for the records.
Antoine Semenyo of AFC Bournemouth registered the only goal from the bench to hand Ghana all three maximum points at home.
Chris Hughton travelled without skipper Andre Ayew, Mohammed Salisu and Jojo Wollacott.
The second tie is slated for Monday, March 27, 2023 in Luanda.
