Asante Kotoko’s Ugandan forward Steven Mukwala earns national team call-up
Asante Kotoko attacker, Steven Mukwala Dese has secured a call-up to the Uganda national team ahead of 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Tanzania later this month.
The attacker who is having a good time with Ghana Premier League giant’s Asante Kotoko SC has earned an invitation to Uganda national team.
Coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic has extended call-up for the double-header against the Taifa Stars.
Mukwala has scored 8 goals since joining the club prior to the commencement of the 2022/23 league season after ending his stay at URA FC in Uganda.
Uganda will host the first leg at the St Mary’s Stadium-Kitende on March 24 before the reverse fixture at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Tanzania four days later.
Mukwala is expected to leave for Uganda to commence preparations for the double-header in the coming days.
He’s made ten caps for the Uganda senior national team since his debut in December, 2019 but yet to score.
