Asante Kotoko SC coach Seydou Zerbo charged for misconduct
Head coach of Reigning Ghana Premier League champions, Seydou Zerbo has been fined GHC2000 for misconduct.
The Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee charged, the Burkinabe trainer for attempting to assault the match officials and made certain gestures during Kotoko’s league match against Bechem United FC on 3rd November 2022.
The gaffer during the hearing, pleaded guilty to the charge with an explanation for mitigation that he was dissatisfied with the performance of the referee.
But, his confrontation with the referee at the end of the game wasn’t aggressive as it has been portrayed.
Kotoko pleaded with the Committee to consider him as a first-time offender and to assure the Association that the Club will continue to educate both players and technical team members on positive ways of reacting during matches.
Zerbo has subsequently been warned that any future misconduct may result in more severe punishment.
