Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has hailed Asante Kotoko as the biggest football club in Ghana, emphasizing the impact the club has on communities and the local economy.

In a recent interview, Nyantakyi reflected on the immense following and influence of the Porcupine Warriors, recounting their impact during his tenure as a football administrator.

Nyantakyi pointed out that Kotoko’s ability to draw crowds wherever they played made them a unique force in Ghanaian football. According to him, the club’s fan base and the excitement they bring to match venues not only boost attendance but also create economic opportunities for local businesses.

“When WA All Stars existed, whenever Asante Kotoko came to town, a lot of people came to the stadium,” Nyantakyi recalled. “Vendors had a lot of money, and it gingered the whole town.” He said on Asempa FM.

Asante Kotoko’s legacy as one of Ghana’s most successful football clubs spans decades, with numerous domestic league titles and continental accolades to their name. The club has long been regarded as a symbol of passion and pride in Ghanaian football.
