Afriyie Barnieh’s agency release statement on Hearts of Oak departure

Club Consult Africa has disclosed that Ghanaian attacking midfielder Daniel Afriyie Barnieh is still Hearts of Oak SC player.

There are several reports, circulating in the Ghanaian media that the former Ghana U-20 captain Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has sealed a move abroad and currently not a member of the Ghanaian giant’s, Accra Hearts of Oak SC.

However, agency of the player Club Consult Africa says it’s untrue the midfielder has reached an agreement with any European Club. Meanwhile, future contractual negotiations relating to Afriyie Barnieh will be done in consultation and collaboration with Accra Hearts of Oak SC.

“Afriyie Barnieh Daniel is and remains a contracted client of Club Consult Africa Limited. We urge the public to ignore any publication associating the player to any other agency”

“The player is still contracted and committed to Accra Hearts of Oak. All future contractual negotiations relating to the player will be done in consultation and collaboration with Accra Hearts of Oak”, statement from the Consult reads.

Barnieh who joined the Continental Club Masters in 2019 was one of two locally-based players who represented the Black Stars at the 2022 World Cup.

He was fortunate to feature in a pre-World Cup friendly against Switzerland and immensely impressed many a Ghanaian football lover and neutral alike with skills and trickery.

Though he could make an appearance at the World Cup, there are hushed talks about several European and Asian clubs chasing after his signature.

He has just few days left in his contract having declined contract extension.

His deal will elapse come December 31, 2022.

The transfer market value rates him for a fee of €250k.
